However, when I open MX Player Pro > Decoder > Custom Codec and it says I want the correct/ best and least amount of codec (s) installed without any extra codec clutter I’ll never use.

I using a vizio 5.1 soundbar so I don’t want atmos codecs installed since they would just need more speakers than I have, etc., just checked, the driver says it’s AC3, 5.1, 48KHz It’s likely AAC or AC3 I don’t have or something. I assume I don’t have the right codec(s) installed. Sometimes I have to fall back to VLC because there’s no sound. I have MX Player Pro (purchased) on my 2019 shield. I apologize for a noobish question here, but the amounts of research I expect this wold take sounds like I’d reinvent the wheel.
